Over the last year there has been talk about setting up a group in Leicester but with illness, surgery and uni we'd never been able to get past go...

Last week 4 of us met for lunch with Clare from NRAS and got the ball rolling ThumpUp

It was lovely meeting everyone (Jayne, Jill and Ann) and a fab lunch was had by all... a couple of us who shall remain nameless even indulged in naughty cakes Razz

Of course we couldn't pass the day without a little retail therapy and this definitely caught our eyes....

Hi Helly

Well done on getting things moving with the new group, I know it was something you've been wanting to do for a while. We are in the throes of setting up a new group in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and Clare organised a launch meeting in July to get things off the ground. It was well attended, over 60, and a group of 7 of us are moving forward to co-ordinate the group. We had a consultation meeting last week and two of us are going to the Co-ordinators Training in Maidenhead next month. Might we see you there? Is it our Ann (Monty) who's involved?

Do keep posting with progress ... could be good to share ideas!

How's uni going? How's the RA at the moment?

Take care Helly,

Lyn x

Edit: Just read another thread and yes it is our Ann ... brilliant! Bet you guys had a fab time ThumpUp xx

What happened to the photo, or was I seeing things?

I'm sure there was a photo on here.

Well I didn't see it Doreen! It seems to be just a little blob!

Another case of 'now you see it ... now you don't' Blink and it's gone!

Oooo ... errrr....ummm - I was hoping that you would never see that picture. I shall really have to behave myself now LOL

By the way - I didn't buy it ... even though Helly tried to persuade me Blink

Looking forward to getting the Leicestershire Group off the ground with Helly, Jill and Jayne.

Warmest wishes to all. Ann (Monty)

Let me know the next time you meet up. I don't come on here as often as I used to as the voluntary work has taken off (which is good), so I don't get so much time.
I'll come too if I'm free.

Didn't know you were a Leicester Lass Jan! We don't need an excuse to meet up. We will 'lunch' any time. Email me on monty21@ntlworld.com and we'll arrange a get-together !

Hi Ann,
Not quite Leicester, but Kettering, so not far away!
I'll be in touch.

I'm butting in too. I am not too far from Leicester and - if free - would also like to join in - if it would be ok? Unsure

Everyone is MOST welcome - wherever you live ! I don't think the support group will be up and running until next Spring - but there is no reason not to have lunch together at ANY time ThumpUp

If anyone has an idea for a venue to meet for lunch - just say. We met at a Garden Centre between Hinckley and Ibstock - hence the 'shopping' Blink

Watch this space.

Warmest wishes, Ann

I definitely don't need an excuse to do lunch! In fact, next time I may even be persuaded to have pudding... Love

It would be lovely to meet others, especially Leicester and surrounding area. We're hoping to launch the Leicester group around February time... just the behind the scenes work at the mo, venues etc

Getting quite excited BigGrin
